Rose I. (Siergiey) Bashaw

Rose I. Bashaw, 96, formerly of Hastings, New York passed away comfortably on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at The Francis House in Syracuse, New York. Rose was born in Poland, left when she was two and grew up in Union Springs, New York.

In 1948, Rose married Vernon Bashaw and moved to Hastings, New York until 2008. Moving to North Carolina before settling in Camillus, New York in 2019.

Rose spent her working career at The Box Factory, Sears and Roebuck, and the IGA. She was a long-time communicant of St. Michael's Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion Auxillary both in Central Square, New York. She volunteered at St. Michael's Bingo and Fish Fries. She loved reading, slot machines. and many fur babies to share her comfy chair.

Rose was predeceased by her parents, husband Vernon, daughter Cathy Bashaw and sister Helen Grandy.

Surviving are sisters, Mary Reichenbach and Wanda Cusimano of Pittsford, New York; children, Debora Pierce of Escondido, California, Kenneth (Louise) Bashaw of Timberlake, North Carolina, and Joanne (Donald Barnes) Sebesta of Camillus, New York; grandchildren, Melissa (Ryan) Post, Jacob Sebesta, Darcie (Randy Leach) Sebesta, Robert (Stacey) Bills, Carrie bills, Paul Novak, Jennifer Saucedo, Ricky Bashaw and Leah Sebesta-Morgan; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel Saucedo, Morgan Bills, Payton Bills, Kaitlin Marcella and Ella Novak.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Divine Mercy Parish, interment in Hillside Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Francis House or Hospice of Central New York.
