Raymond S. Florczyk

Raymond S. Florczyk, of Brewerton, passed away suddenly on May 23, 2022.  He was 81 years old.  He was predeceased by his parents Harriet and Stanley, his brother Richard, and sons Raymond and Robert.  Ray is survived by his wife of nearly 56 years, Barbara; daughters Lynn Kreis (Steve) and Patricia Sharpe (Alan), and grandsons Shaun Besaw and AJ Sharpe.

Born in Syracuse, Ray attended Syracuse University and then started working for the US Postal Service, where he retired after 30 plus years. He enjoyed boating, which is how he met his beloved wife.  They bought a little house on the lake and moved to Brewerton to start their family.  He enjoyed the outdoors and working with his hands, either in the garden or wood working.  He was an Assistant Scout Master for the Boy Scouts and would spend many a weekend camping.  A long time member of St. Agnes Parish, he would volunteer his time and skills until he eventually worked for the church for several years.   He was a wonderful friend, mentor, husband and father who will be greatly missed.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm, at Watson Funeral Home in Central Square.   A funeral mass will be at Divine Mercy Parish, Central Square on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 9 am, followed by burial at Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.   In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Divine Mercy Parish-Food Pantry.
