Patricia Lillian (Watson) De Wispelare

Patricia "Pat" De Wispelare, 83 of Hastings, New York gained her wings peacefully at home on Thursday, June 1, 2023 with her husband Ken and immediate family by her side. Mom was able to be home as she always wanted thanks to her loving family; especially her husband Ken who took care of her every need, granddaughter Morgan who put her life on hold to take care of her grandmother; grandson Dan who would read to her; son Dan and daughter in law Marge who sacrificed everything so she could continue to be home.
Patricia was a volunteer teacher/aide at Hastings Mallory Elementary School; she loved animals, reading, gardening, lighthouses and lilacs. Patricia was selfless, caring and a mother/grandmother figure to countless children she cared for over the years.
She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Lillian(Pitkin) Watson; and son Doug De Wispelare. Survived by her husband of 64 years Ken, son Dan (Marge) De Wispelare of Hastings, New York, daughter Hope (Ken) Fields of Cicero, New York, son Phil (Paige) De Wispelare of Cookville, Tennesee, daughter Carleen (Jesse) Rusoff of Rockledge, Florida; grandchildren Morgan, Dan, Leighanne, Reece De Wispelare, Sabrina and Brianna Fields, Heather Palumbo, Danielle Shepard, Kayla Ceniceros, Casey Cory and Chris Rusoff and six great grandchildren.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. Laura Hamilton for the excellent care and compassion for our mother and our family. We would also like to thank Danielle LaMay for her friendship and care during her illness.
Calling hours will be 4:00-6:00pm with a service to follow immediately on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Watson Funeral Home, 631 South Main Street, Central Square, New York. Burial will be private.
