Nancy L. (Rood) Taylor

Nancy L. Taylor, 82, of North Syracuse, New York (formerly of Mallory, New York) died Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Elderwood Rehabilitation Center in Liverpool, New York. Nancy, daughter of the late Leon and Doris Stagner Rood on May 4, 1941 in Parish, New York.

Nancy retired from North Syracuse Central Schools following many years of service. She enjoyed crafting, especially quilting and scrapbooking. Her biggest joys were her family and summers at the family camp in Alexandria Bay, New York.  She was predeceased by her husband David and a son, David, Jr..

Surviving are a daughter, Debbie (Ernie) DeWolf; sons, Michael (April), Daniel and Andrew (Alyssa) Taylor; sisters, Linda Myers, Susan Romanowski and Joellen Gates; brother, Richard Rood; sister-in-law, Beverly Taylor; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 7:00pm with a funeral service to follow immediately at 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Watson Funeral Home, 631 South Main Street, Central Square, New York. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, August 25, 2023 in Hastings Cemetery, Route 11, Hastings, New York.

Nancy’s family would like to thank everyone at Elderwood for the wonderful care they provided mom.
