Obituary

Larry J. Fournier, 77, of Constantia, New York went to be with the Lord on June 22, 2023. Larry
was born in Massena, New York on August 23, 1945. He was the son of the late Laurenzo and
Maxine (Summers) Fournier.
Larry was a man of dignity and strong faith. Family was very important to him. His world
revolved around his children and grandchildren. He had a special place in his heart for his dogs,
especially Cooper. He was married to the love of his life, Kathryn for 52 years. They were a
match made in heaven. He entered the Air Force after graduating high school. Once
discharged, he worked at Bristol Myers Squibb for 34 years. He worked as a Process Operator,
then Group Leader, and finally Operations Manager, traveling to other countries to start up other
plants in anticancer development. He retired in 2003. He was also in the Army Reserves for 11
years as a drill sergeant and then in charge of the Leadership Academy. He resigned to spend
time with his three sons and to coach Little League and Babe Ruth baseball, bringing teams
from last place to championships. Larry also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and being a
Snowbird. He cherished the trip they took to Alaska.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Bob Fournier, 2 sisters, Gloria
Bucklin and Pat Dixon, and his brother-in-law, Bill Dixon.
Surviving to cherish his memory are; his loving wife of 52 years, Kathryn (Trudell) Fournier, his
sons; Derek (Jen) Fournier, Mark Fournier (Katelyn Connelly), and Randy Fournier, brother;
Roger (Lisa) Fournier, sister; Suzanne (Craig) Williamson, sister-in-law, Lorri Fournier,
grandchildren; Jenna, Jordin, Dylan, Landon, Ella, Brayden, and Everly, and his beloved dog,
Cooper.
There will be no calling hours, at Larry’s request. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at
9:30 am on Monday, July 31 st at Divine Mercy Parish, 592 South Main Street, Central Square,
NY 13036.

A Military Graveside service will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt, New York.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
