Joyce E. Weiland

Mrs. Joyce E. Weiland, age 87, a lifelong Hastings resident, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, September 5, 2021 at Loretto Health and Rehabilitation, Syracuse.

She was born in Brewerton on October 5, 1933, daughter of the late Clarence and Jenny (Boots) Minckler and educated in local schools.  She was united in marriage to Andrew Weiland, who preceded her in death in 1989.  She was last employed as a transportation monitor with Central Square Central School District.  She was a member of St. Michael’s Church. 

Survivors include her children, Robert Weiland and wife Sharon of North Carolina, Mary Lou Staats and husband Charles of Central Square, Beverly Linstruth and husband Edward of Hastings, Grace Bristol and husband Richard of Central Square, and RoseMarie Lightaul of West Monroe; nineteen grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; her siblings, Harold Minckler and Paul Minckler and wife Carol; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Clarence Minckler, Richard Minckler, Pete Minckler, Barbara Shutts and Clarice Gates. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, September 8, 2021 at Watson Funeral Home, 631 S. Main St., Central Square, from 5-7 pm.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to graveside services which will take place on Thursday morning, September 9th, 2021 at 11 am at Pine Grove Cemetery, Mallory, NY.  Please click above to add to the online memorial.
