“Jack” Francis John Baird, 84, of Central Square, passed away on December 16, 2020. He was born on January 20, 1936 in Syracuse, New York, to the late Helen (Nagy) and Walter Baird. After proudly serving in Korea for the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Ticonderoga, he returned to the Syracuse area, working at the Crowley Dairy Company, and later at the Mack Trucks Parts Department. Jack loved to bowl and had many accolades in the sport including several 300 games. He was a longtime member of St. Agnes and Divine Mercy Parish and also of the American Legion James Harvey Spire Post 787. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Janet, her daughter Susan Rdzanek, his sisters Mary Alice Shin, Patricia Anne Thurner, Beverly Joan Armstrong, brother, Thomas Douglas Baird, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Helen Clark, and Rose Marie Martin.
Services will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 8:00 am at Divine Mercy Church in Central Square, NY. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no calling hours.
