Beverly (Moore) Thompson Obituary

Beverly Jean Thompson passed away peacefully at Colonial Park Nursing Home on February 6,2020.  Her sisters Barb and Wanda and her daughter Lynn sang her hymns and covered her with an anointed prayer shawl prior to her death.  Singing Amazing Grace was always something she enjoyed doing. She admittedly said she sang off key but didn’t care. She was singing to Jesus and her voice was fearfully and wonderfully made.

Bev grew up in a big family, her maiden name, Moore. She was very proud of each of her siblings and called them all quite frequently. All her siblings always helped take care of Beverly. They were very loyal to each other.  She studied to become a nurse and achieved that goal. She became a mother to Lynn Lamphere, who she lovingly referred to as her swan song. She enjoyed life and loved her family. Bev was a smart, funny, sassy, courageous lady. Her brother in-law Jim always said she didn’t put up with anyone’s “hogwash.“

Bev is predeceased by her parents Robert (Bud) and Louise Moore; her older brother Eric Moore; sister Kathleen Moore; and brother Gary Moore.  Surviving are her daughter Lynn Lamphere ( Jeremy) and their children Jae, Kaitlynn, Spencer, Lucas and Christian of Mallory NY; her twin sister Barbara Cronk (Jim); sister Debbie Kantak; brother Daniel Kantak (twins), brother Bob Moore ( Sue), Edward Moore( Shatzie), and Jim Moore; her baby sister Wanda (Dean) Richardson; her sisters-in-law Ruth Moore (Eric) and Cathy Moore.  She lived with Barb and Jim for many years, what an adventurous journey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews (more like siblings to Lynn) who have a lot of funny stories about their Aunt Bev.

A Celebration of Life, in her memory, with be held in the spring, date to be announced.

Through  many dangers toils and snares
We have already come.
T’was grace that brought us safe thus far
And grace will lead us home.
