Bertha M. Wood

Bertha M. Wood, 84, of West Monroe, passed away on September 22, 2020. She was born at home in West Monroe on March 20, 1936 to the late Frank and the late Agnes (Clark) Wood. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Kenneth Wood, Gerald Wood, and Beverly Schaad.

Bertha worked at the IGA in Central Square as a Deli Clerk for many years. She enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and her flowers. She enjoyed Crocheting. Bertha loved to watch her birds and the deer in her yard. Her favorite past time was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bertha is survived by her companion, the love of her life, Richard Johnson; her children, Donna Fisher, Allen (Lori) Fisher, Lori (Bob) Carpenter, Heather (Henry) Gass, Deborah Johnson, Patrick (Dixie) Johnson, Neil Johnson; sister, Nancy Hains; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

A Calling Hour will be held on Friday from 10 am – 11 am at the Watson Funeral Home, 631 S. Main St., Central Square, NY. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 am. Burial will take place in West Monroe Cemetery.
