Norbert F. Johnson, 81, of Pennellville, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on January 10, 2019.
Norm was born on March 17, 1937 to the late Joseph and Arlene Johnson. He served in the Navy, and then went on to work at New Venture Gear for 33 years as a set-up man and storekeeper. Norm loved woodworking and harness horse racing.
He is survived by his wife, Dian Freeden-Dana Johnson; four sons: Patrick, Gregg, James (Tammy), Dale (Jackie); one daughter: Jeannie Johnson-Brown (Bruce); five step-daughters: Cindy (Frank) Wallace, Margaret (Leffert) Eastman, Jo-Ann Dana-Ripka, Jackie (William) Pettit, Jeannie (Jay) Curry; two stepsons: William (Marsha) Dana, Norman Dana; one brother: Robert “Bobby” Johnson; one sister: Joan (Jim) LaClair, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was one son, Dennis Matthew Johnson, and nine siblings.
Calling hours will be held from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Watson Funeral Home, 631 S. Main St., Central Square, NY with a funeral service immediately following at the funeral home. Military honors will be rendered at the VA Cemetery in Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
