Was born to Charles Warner and Gladys Lewis Warner on August 11, 1926 , in West Monroe, NY. She spent her youth in West Monroe and attended Mud Settlement one room School house until eighth grade. She attended Paul V. Moore High School on Main Street in Central Square and she graduated in 1943. After graduating from high school she worked for Aura A. Cole as a secretary. On October 26, 1945 she married Edson Carl House from Little France. In 1956, Edson and Laura bought a farm from Edson's father and farmed until Edson's death in 2004. In 1960 Edson, Laura, and Laura's brother-in-law formed a corporation, House Trucking, Inc. which continues to operate today. Laura served as bookkeeper and manager until recently when she retired due to ill health. Laura was predeceased by her husband, Edson, her son, Carl, and her brother-in-law Ray. She is survived by her son, Frank (Cheryl), and four grandchildren, Melissa (Chad) Wilkinson, Trista House VanDuzer, Vanessa (Kirk) Phillips, and Edson (Brittany) House, nine grand children and many nieces, nephews and friends that she loved dearly. Laura's desire and wish was that her body be donated to Upstate Medical Center for Anatomical Studies.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, May 18th at the Central Square American Legion from 4:30 to 7:30PM.
