James "Sparky" Burgen

Jimmy “Sparky” Burgen passed on Sunday, March 10, 2019.

Sparky was well known in the Old Skool and Rat Rod community as the founder and creator of the Old Skool Roundup, along with his pal, wife and best friend, Mary. Together they were a team of one! As we all celebrate the 13^th year of the Old Skool Roundup he will forever be associated with and indebted to the Syracuse Nationals/Right Coast family.  With their continued and ongoing support, Sparky’s Rockabilly Roundup will live on in his memory.

Sparky leaves to cherish his memory, in addition to an abundance of those he called friend, his wife of 41 years, Mary; his children James R. Burgen, Heatherlee M. Micale and Jonathan J. Burgen; along with his grandchildren Michael A. Burgen and Joseph L. W. Micale. They are his pride, joy and source of strength and inspiration.

Per his wishes, arrangements will be made by Watson Funeral Home in Central Square and Sparky will be cremated. A memorial service of Old Skool/Rat Rod standards will be held at a later date to be announced by his family.
