George Lamb, 75, of Constantia, passed away suddenly on Friday at his home, after a brief illness, with family by his side. George drove a tour bus for Centro, where he was known as “The Singing Bus Driver,” for over 20 years. He also worked for Ballad Construction Co., of Solvay, as a truck driver. George’s real passion was music and was a member of many Ol’ Country bands throughout the years. He enjoyed golfing, often with his son. George is predeceased by his siblings, Jean Gleason, Joyce Boardman, Richard Lamb, and Charles Lamb.
He is survived by his loving companion, Martha Cromp; children, George Jr., Mark (Tamara), and Patricia (Ron) Cook; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Stummer; and his adopted family, Dan, Lauri, and Caitlynn Cromp.
Calling Hours will be held Tuesday, May 8, at Watson Funeral Home, from 4 – 7 PM. A Funeral Service will follow Calling Hours. Burial will be private.
