Richard E. Harper Jr.

Richard E. Harper Jr., 45, of Pennellville passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday following a brief illness.

A native of the Syracuse area, Richard worked as a custodian at the ESM School District since 2005.  A devoted husband and father, Richard also was a volunteer fire fighter/EMT for the Constantia and Caughdenoy fire departments and the North Shore Ambulance.  He loved hunting, fishing, reading and just being outdoors.  Richard was pre deceased by his daughter Jessica in 1996.

Surviving are his wife Mary of 23 years; his son Richard Harper III; his parents Richard Sr. and Mary Harper; his brother Robert Sr. and Jean Harper; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours are 2-5pm Sunday at the Watson Funeral Home, Central Square.  Services will be 10am Monday at the funeral home with burial following in West Monroe Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local fire department.
